SELECTMEN'S PUBLIC MEETING 1/26/2004

Sandra A. McKenney, Chairperson of the Board of Selectmen, opened the meeting at 7 PM on Monday, January 26, 2004. Present at the meeting were the three Selectmen, Chairperson McKenney, Benjamin E. Fontaine, Jr., and Arthur G. Houle; the Administrative Assistant, and David M. Jodoin.

The Selectmen signed the letter, dated January 26, 2004 and retained a copy.

The Selectmen received a letter from the Zoning Board stating that Lori Thompson has not been attending the Zoning Board meetings. The Zoning Board is requesting that the Selectmen start the proceedings to have her removed from the Board.

A donation will be sent to Hospice in Concord, in memory of Donald Bergevin, a member of the Supervisors of the Checklist in Allenstown.

The Board received a letter from Cook and Molan concerning testing, analysis and a proposal for remediation at the Whitten Street Community Center. Air testing has been done in the crawl space beneath the Community Center, which indicates that there is no detectable contaminants present in that space migrating into the building. In light of the air test result, the letter from the Bureau of Environmental and Occupational Health as well as the remediation proposed on the puddle area at the Whitten Street Community Center, it seems appropriate to resume use of the property. The Board discussed this with Recreation Commissioner James Rodger and will await more information from the Gas company before re-opening.

Arthur Houle made a motion, seconded by Benjamin Fontaine to go into non-public with members of Tri-Town Ambulance under RSA 91-A 3 II © for personnel and financial issues. Roll call vote: Sandra McKenney, yes; Benjamin Fontaine, yes; and Arthur Houle, yes. Motion passed.

The Selectmen resumed the public meeting at 8:58 PM.

Selectmen Fontaine attended a meeting at the State House regarding the Allenstown Meeting house.

David stated that CNN will be at Chantilly's Tuesday morning to meet with citizens regarding the New Hampshire primary voting.

The Town deliberative session is Saturday, January 31, at 9 AM at the Allenstown Elementary School and the School deliberative session is Thursday, February 5th, at 7 PM at the Allenstown Elementary School.

Arthur Houle reported on the damage at Town Hall as a result of pipes freezing over the week-end.

The Selectmen's meetings are now scheduled every other week, starting February 2, 2004.

The Selectmen met with the Fire Chief at the Fire station to look at the building for safety reasons.

Arthur Houle stated that the Facility Committee will meet on February 3rd at 3 PM. There are 6 members to the committee. They will meet at Town Hall.

On motion of Benjamin Fontaine, seconded by Arthur Houle, the meeting adjourned at 9:38 PM.
