SELECTMEN'S PUBLIC MEETING 5/10/2004
The meeting was opened by Arthur G. Houle, Chairman of the Board at 7:00 PM.
Roll call vote: Sandra A. McKenney, Peter A. Viar, Arthur G. Houle, Selectmen;
David A. Jodoin, Administrative Assistant; and Carol and Roland Martel, from the audience.
General Business:
The Selectmen met with Carol Martel, Chairperson of the Steering Committee for the Old Meeting House, to report on the meeting held last week.
Carol discussed issues regarding the Historical Society and gave a synopsis of what has been happening. The Board will review the documentation provided and discuss the issue at a later time.
A motion was made by Sandra McKenney, seconded by Peter Viar, to accept the minutes of 5/3/2004. Motion passed.
David stated that the Real Estate Tax Lien was done today, May 10, 2004.
Several issues were discussed, including House bill 1148, protection of wetland areas; the Cemetery abutting the Beaucher residence and the Talbot residence;
MSDS and keeping track at the Fire Department; setting up OSHA compliance; and Tri-Town ambulance service.
There is a meeting with Pembroke Selectmen next week at 6:30 PM to discuss issues that are of concern to both Towns.
David stated that the budget committee would like the budgets earlier than normal. The budgets will be due in total on September 1st and David and the
Selectmen will make up a schedule for meetings with Department Heads.
The Selectmen will review separately the Cable Contract and then will discuss it at a Selectmen's meeting.
The Selectmen discussed McNamara's Landing and what can happen to Lincoln Street if the project goes through. There is a Zoning Board meeting on May 12th to discuss the project in more detail.
Chairperson Houle discussed junk cars and unregistered vehicles and trailers on Verville Road as well as Deerfield Road. Also, he noticed that house numbers are not visible on houses in that area. David will contact the Police Department.
Sandra stated that it is National Senior Center Week. Christine resigned from the Allenstown Senior Center and Francine Reda has returned for the time being.
A motion was made by Sandra McKenney, seconded by Peter Viar, to adjourn the meeting. Motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 8:32 PM.
