SELECTMEN’S PUBLIC MEETING 5/20/2002
Benjamin E. Fontaine, Jr., reconvened the
Selectmen’s meeting at 7:58 PM.
Present were Benjamin E. Fontaine, Jr.,
Arthur G. Houle, Sandra A. McKenney, Selectmen; and David M. Jodoin,
Administrative Assistant.
Selectmen Houle discussed a follow-up with
Joan Bailey, regarding elderly housing on land that she owns. A grant may be available
to pursue this project.
Arthur will contact Ralph Littlefield from
Community Action program.
Selectmen Houle also discussed the web
page. David will be in control of the web page and what documents will be
scanned in and Don Coulsey will be consulted if there is a problem.
Selectperson McKenney discussed the ARA
Bewitched Forest program. Jennifer Morin would like to be the chairperson.
Sandy will attend the School Board meeting
Tuesday, 5/21/02 to hear comments on the Summer program.
David informed the Board that Brenda
LaFratta spoke to Jim Rodger and she would like to rent the Recreation Center
to run a Summer program.
Selectman Fontaine stated that he is on the
Renaissance committee as well as Ann Viar.
Selectperson McKenney will attend the Hooksett
Town meeting to find out about Mountain Ambulance service.
David Jodoin discussed several issues: A
purchase order from Don Peloquin for $222.40 which will be paid out of the
Payroll account; Public service will remove and relocate polls on Granite Street
at no charge; Town Hall will be closed Monday, 5/27 in observance of Memorial
Day; the tax bills will be mailed 5/31 and due 7/1/2002; the windows at Town
Hall in the meeting room need to be replaced; David is getting quotes for the
job; Leigh McDonnell was contacted to do some electrical work at Town Hall ;
David is getting quotes to do the floor.
Also discussed was a letter sent by the
Code Enforcement Officer to Joseph Albair, AKA Mr. A’s Auto, regarding violations
on Pinewood Road.
David also discussed Tax deeding, tax
liens, and Barrington letters and the process that was used.
The Assessors will be checking the Central
part of the Town to update properties, by remeasuring and relisting.
The Dare graduation is Thursday, May 23 at
7:00 PM. The Selectmen will attend.
The Selectmen will meet at 6:30 PM to visit
Mrs. Lena Demers of Suncook Pond to present her with the Boston Cane as the
oldest member of the Town.
They will meet with the ATV club at 7:00 PM
at Town Hall.
The Selectmen will meet with Joseph Duguay
on June 17 to discuss a land issue.
There will be a public hearing regarding
changing house numbers on River Road at the request of both the Police and Fire
Chiefs.
The Selectmen’s summer schedule for meetings
will be: July 1, July 15, July 29, August 12, August 26 and will return to
their regularly scheduled meetings on September 9th.
A motion was made by Arthur Houle, seconded
by Benjamin Fontaine, to amend the minutes of 5/13/2002 for a correction to be
made. Selectman Houle made the statement that this would be the last money that
would be put into the Fire Department pick-up truck used by the Chief. A roll
call vote was taken: Arthur Houle, yes; Benjamin Fontaine, yes; Sandra
McKenney, no. Motion passed 2-1.
Selectman Houle stated that the Animal
control officer, Scott Eaton, was using a cruiser when he does his ACO work.
Chief McGonigle stated he would not be using a cruiser and would be paid
mileage. Chairman Fontaine will check with the Chief.
On motion of Arthur G. Houle, seconded by
Benjamin E. Fontaine, Jr. to accept the minutes of 5/13/2002 as amended, motion
passed unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 9:29 PM.
