SELECTMEN’S PUBLIC MEETING 7/15/2002
The meeting opened at 7:00 PM. Present were
Benjamin E. Fontaine, Jr., Arthur G. Houle, Sandra A. McKenney, Selectmen; and
David M. Jodoin, Administrative Assistant.
The Selectmen interviewed Mark O’Clair, who
is interested in being a member of the Zoning Board. After some discussion, a
motion was made by Arthur Houle, seconded by Sandra McKenney, to accept Mr.
O’Clair as a new member of the Zoning board, replacing Michael Touchette. His
appointment is effective through 4/1/2004. Motion passed unanimously.
The Selectmen met with Fire Chief Al
Dionne, to discuss purchase orders, a resignation letter from Scott Eaton, a
termination letter for Don Peloquin, and discussion for a committee for the
Fire Department’s future new apparatus.
On motion of Sandra McKenney, seconded by
Arthur Houle, the minutes of the July 1st meeting were approved
unanimously.
Sandra McKenney made a motion to amend the
minutes of July 1st to include 30 days for residents on River Road to put their
house # on their home. Seconded by Arthur Houle, motion passed unanimously.
A discussion followed with the Selectmen
and Jim Rodger regarding custodial duties, the Planning Board, and the
Recreation center. Jim is unavailable to clean the offices because they are
locked and he is requesting a key. The Planning Board needs a recording
Secretary who will take minutes and send out correspondence and organize
information for meetings Mr. Fontaine is suggesting a part-time secretary to do
zoning and planning minutes as well as handle the meeting notices and agendas.
The salary would come out of the Administrative fees collected for permits.
David Jodoin will call Attorney Bedard to find out if a volunteer is allowed a
salary and if not, what process can be used to get the work done.
Jim Rodger asked the Selectmen if a letter
of resignation was received from Steve Gardner, a commissioner for the
Recreation Dept. Three commissioners are required. The Selectmen did not
receive a resignation from Mr. Gardner.
The Selectmen signed certificates of
appointment for two new members of the zoning Board besides Mr. O’Clair.Peter Viar, until April, 2003, replacing
Burnham Gaff; Robert Lee, until April, 2005, replacing Herman Dees. A motion
was made by Sandra McKenney, seconded by Arthur Houle, to accept Peter Viar as
a new member of the Zoning Board. Motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Sandra McKenney,
seconded by Arthur Houle, to accept Robert Lee as a new member of the Zoning
Board. Motion passed unanimously.
The Selectmen will discuss Town
Clerk/Police Department fees for dogs at their next meeting on August 5th.
Armand Verville would like to meet with the
Selectmen regarding land that he owns.
Selectman Houle will be the Selectmen
representative on the Fire Department apparatus committee.
On motion of Sandra McKenney, seconded by
Arthur Houle, the meeting adjourned at 9:17 PM.
