SELECTMEN'S PUBLIC MEETING 9/15/2003

The Selectmen's public meeting on 9/15/2003 was opened at 7:00 PM by Chairperson, Sandra A. McKenney. Other Selectmen present were Benjamin E. Fontaine, Jr., and Arthur G. Houle and Administrative Assistant, David M.Jodoin.

The Selectmen met with John and Brenda Dupont from Brookside Terrace in Allenstown who had issues with the Building Inspector. After discussing the issues with the Selectmen, Selectmen Fontaine suggested that perhaps there was a misunderstanding and David will speak to Monica and the Selectmen will be in touch with Mr. and Mrs. Dupont.

Police Chief Jim McGonigle introduced Christopher Clark as a new Sergeant to the department and Jennifer Pierce as a new Police Officer.

Arthur Houle made a motion, seconded by Benjamin Fontaine, to go into Non-Public meeting per RSA 91-A:3 II (a) regarding a personnel matter at 7:25 PM. Ben Fontaine seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Arthur Houle, yes; Benjamin Fontaine, yes; Sandra McKenney, yes.

The Public meeting resumed at 8:12 PM.

The Selectmen met with Chief McGonigle to discuss the Police budget for 2004. The first budget is for the Animal Control. Salary is $12,300 and Supplies is $1,700.

The second budget is for the Police Department. The requested budget is for $549,224.00. A copy of the budgets is attached. Sandra McKenney would like the vehicle line and the Prosecutor line to be warrant articles as opposed to being line items. The full time salaries raises will be at 2 1/2 %.

A motion was made by Benjamin Fontaine, seconded by Arthur Houle, to accept the Police Department budgets of $14,000 for animal control and $549,224.00 for the Police Department. Motion passed.

The Selectmen signed the contract for the purchase of the new fire truck.

The Selectmen agreed to leave the roadway and cul-de-sac on Kimberly Lane as it is and Mr. Tigges should go to the Zoning Board for a variance.

The Selectmen signed the Numbering Ordinance.

The Selectmen agreed to have the roof repaired at the Recreation Center but to hold up on other requested items. The Board would like to see a volunteer day organized to handle the maintenance issues. David Jodoin stated that people have hectic schedules right now and may not have the time. Sandra McKenney will call the Banner to run an ad.

The Tri-Town ambulance which was parked at the Fire Station has been removed.

The Selectmen agreed to form an exploratory committee to look for a new ambulance service in case Tri-Town Ambulance service is no longer available.

Jim Boisvert of the Highway Department will hand out the Trash ordinance and Numbering Ordinance to townspeople on the trash pickup routes Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

A motion was made by Arthur Houle, seconded by Benjamin Fontaine, to accept the minutes of the Selectmen's meeting of 9/8/03. Motion passed.

The Fire Department truck contract was signed tonight, not on the 22nd of September as last week's minutes stated .

The meeting adjourned at 10:38 PM.
