SELECTMEN'S PUBLIC MEETING 9/22/03

Sandra McKenney, Chairman of the Board of Selectmen, opened the meeting at 7:00 PM. Present at the meeting was the Chairperson; Benjamin E. Fontaine, Jr., and Arthur G. Houle, Selectmen; David M. Jodoin, Administrative Assistant; Mike Tardiff from Central New Hampshire Regional Planning Commission; Don Peloquin, Ray Croteau, Keith Lambert, Robert Martin and Fire Chief Everett Chaput III.

The Selectmen met with Mike Tardiff from CNHRPC to discuss state funding available for local projects. A committee will be formed which should include a representative from the Board of Selectmen, one from the Planning Board, someone from the community, one Department Head for a total of no more than 5 or 6 members. The meeting should take place in October.

Mr. Tardiff also discussed the availability of a member of CNHRPC to help the new members of the Zoning Board. Lucy will be attending the next 3 meetings to benefit the Board and see how that works. The charges for the assistance is a budget item and should be included in next year's budget.

Don Peloquin from the Fire Department spoke briefly about the Tower situation and how much it is going to cost and whether we will go with Hooksett or Holiday Acres.HHHooHH The money is in Capital Reserve for this purpose.

The Selectmen met with the Fire Chief to discuss the Fire Department budget for 2004.

The Selectmen and the Chief went over items line for line, discussing each line and the Selectmen revising the numbers.

Attached is the Budget proposal for 2004. The budget will be completed at next week's Selectmen's meeting on September 29, 2003.

Arthur Houle made a motion, seconded by Benjamin Fontaine, to accept the minutes of the Selectmen's meeting of 9/15/03. Motion passed.

 Sandra McKenney made an amendment to the minutes: 5th paragraph from the bottom to specify that the full-time salaries in the Police Department will be effective in July and the study for ambulances is for a back-up to the Tri-Town ambulance services. The amendment was seconded by Benjamin Fontaine. Motion passed.

Selectman Fontaine will be away from November 22 to December 6 and Selectman Houle will be away October 10 to the 12th.

The State representatives will be contacted for their input to a bill regarding ATVs at Bear Brook State Park.

Arthur Houle made a motion, seconded by Benjamin Fontaine, to adjourn the meeting at 11:10 PM. Motion passed.
