SELECTMEN'S PUBLIC MEETING 11/17/2003
Arthur G. Houle, Selectman, opened the meeting at 7:00 PM on November 17, 2003. Present was Arthur Houle and Benjamin E. Fontaine, Jr., Selectmen; David M. Jodoin, Administrative Assistant. Chairperson Sandra A. McKenney was excused.
The meeting consisted of General Business.
The Non-Public meeting with Peter Nadeau from NHMA was cancelled.
The Selectmen discussed that the Pembroke Board of Selectmen wants to increase their town fees. All our fees are intact and have all been reviewed and discussed and should remain the same for now.
The Assessing Standards Board and Equalization Standards Board are having meetings the month of November for people to understand the assessing process. David will call to try to set up a meeting locally.
There is a meeting on November 19 with the Friends of the Suncook River and UNH. David will ask Phil Trowbridge or Laura Bonk of the Conservation Commission if they can attend.
Steve Buckley from CNHRPC is on the I-93 Concord Planning Study Citizens Advisory Task Force. Selectman Houle will discuss it at Wednesday's Planning Board meeting.
The Selectmen discussed the property behind 30 School Street belonging to Roger Bernard. He is the owner of record. Mr. Bernard says he does not own it. It is recorded at the Registry of deeds. He owes the taxes.
Selectman Houle will review the CDs on "Achieving Smart Growth" There are 2 copies. One should go to the Planning Board and the other at Town alHall.
The Ambulance committee is meeting on Wednesday , November 19, at 7PM at the Fire Station. Sandra McKenney is on the committee.
Sandra McKenney attended a meeting last week at the school regarding having 2 principals next year. A search committee will be set up.
The truck committee has not informed the Selectmen who will be going to Florida and when they will be going. This is regarding the new truck.
Chairperson McKenney and Selectman Fontaine will meet at the Senior Center on Thursday, November 20, at 11 AM to present a volunteer with a certificate.
There is a meeting on Hazard Mitigation on December 1st. A Selectman should attend the meeting.
The Selectmen met with Marcella Hinkell who will be the new Welfare Officer for the Town of Allenstown. The Selectmen and Marcella discussed hours, location for an office, computer, filing cabinet and training.
David stated that the budgets that need to be reviewed by the Selectmen are Capital Outlay, Executive, Elections and Supervisors of the Checklist.
