SELECTMEN'S PUBLIC MEETING 2/2/2004

Sandra A. McKenney, Chairperson for the Allenstown Board of Selectmen, opened the meeting on Monday, February 2nd, at 7:01 PM. Present at the meeting were the Chairperson, Benjamin E. Fontaine, Jr., Arthur G. Houle, Selectmen; David M. Jodoin, Administrative Assistant; Laura Bonk and Peter Viar.

The Selectmen met with Laura Bonk of the Conservation Commission who discussed a possible boat launch or a Town park where people can go fishing. The area is just below Route 3 and Turnpike Street and is owned by the Osgood brothers. It is possible to have 6 parking spaces there. Laura will contact the Osgoods to see if they are willing to go along with this project for the Town.

The Conservation Commission will meet with the Planning Board on Wednesday to discuss this project.

The Selectmen have been invited to the Senior Center Valentine's Party on February 13th.

A donation will be sent to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association in honor of Guy Duhaime, a Supervisor of the Checklist, who passed away last week.

David will attend a meeting with Primex on February 11th, to discuss Health insurance.

Selectman Fontaine will attend a meeting Wednesday for Senate bill 349.

Chairperson McKenney reported that there was a Joint Loss Management meeting this morning at the Fire station. The safety issues at the station have been taken care of. The Fire Department did a good job cleaning up. The Library Trustees, Vicki Kneeland and Vivien Doane, will meet with Tom McDermott of Healthtrust to discuss Library safety issues. The meeting is schedule for March 3rd at 7 PM. The next meeting for the Joint Loss Management committee is April 5th at the Highway Department.

The Selectmen will meet every Monday for their meetings as usual. They will not meet February 16th, however, as it is a Holiday.

David Jodoin asked the Selectmen what they wanted to put on the cover of the Town Report and whom did they want to dedicate it to. No decision was made.

Stephanie, from Central New Hampshire Regional Planning Commission met with the Selectmen to discuss the formal adoption of the Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan has been approved by Fema. A public hearing will be held on Monday, February 23rd, to accept the revision of the plan of 12/1/03. The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 PM.

Chairperson McKenney will attend the meeting Sunday, February 8th, for Tri-Town Ambulance. The new Bi-laws will be passed out.

The space Needs committee meeting is Tuesday, February 3rd at 3PM at Town Hall.

The Selectmen discussed purchase orders and purchasing procedures.

A motion was made by Arthur Houle, seconded by Benjamin Fontaine, to accept the minutes of the Selectmen's public meeting on 1/26/2004. Motion passed.

David will send out a memo to Department Heads regarding purchase orders.

A motion was made by Benjamin Fontaine, seconded by Arthur Houle to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 PM. Motion passed.
